• My name is Tom Sylvester and I have been a professional tattoo artist for 30 years.
• I have been practicing art since childhood (Usually oil paints or drawing)
• My work experience is as diverse as my customers are:
  • I moved from Philadelphia to Goldfield's in San Francisco because I wanted to do  a more artistic and realistic fine line style than the standard "East Coast" Style.
  • I also worked with Bob Shaw's in Houston, Texas.
  • Then it was back to the Bay Area to open my own shop in Hayward.
  • In 1987, I arrived right here in Roslyn, Pennsylvania.

• The challenge of custom work is what I enjoy, as well as portraits, black & gray realism, animals, color, tribal...

Anything you can think of, I can do!

To further my knowledge I attend tattoo conventions regularly as well as taking seminars in:

• Machine maintenance
• Ethics
• Medical Issues (such as preventing disease transmission and sterilization procedures)
• Art Techniques

Whenever attending these conventions, I ask many questions of older tattoo icons.  I want to learn everything that I can, so that my clients can feel comfortable while getting artwork.
